Our specialty is boat trips on the Saloum River Delta. All prices include hotel pickup and drop-off. Here are various options:
Sunset birdwatching trip—80€ for two adults, or 85 if you’re bringing up to two kids. From Ndangane we glide out around Marlodj Island, slip into the creeks and channels… watch the sky turn gold while pelicans, cormorants, egrets and herons fold up for the night. Then back before dark. Beautiful evening glide.
Full-day island escape—100€ two adults, 110/120€ for two with one/two kids. Same easy glide around Marlodj Island, but we dock for lunch at the little restaurant—crevettes, fish, rice, dessert. Then wander the village: comunity life, kids playing, fishermen mending nets. Slip through channel and creekand finish with birdwatching—pelicans, cormorants, egrets, herons and more. Slow, real, no rush.
Private beach day—100€ for two adults, or 110€ for two with up to two kids. From Ndangane we motor out to a quiet island—no houses, no crowds—just sand, sea, and sky. Picnic lunch on the shore: grilled fish, fruit, cold drinks… nothing fancy, just perfect. Swim, nap in the shade, listen to the waves. Then late-afternoon boat ride back—birdwatching as pelicans, cormorants, egrets, herons drift overhead while the light turns pink. Back by dusk. Yours alone.
Deep delta adventure—120€ for two adults, or 130€ for two with up to two kids. This one’s for folks who don’t mind hours on the water—it’s long, slow, real. We push way in, past the usual creeks, into the heart of the islands. Stop at Falia village: wooden pirogues tied up, women pounding millet, kids waving from the shore. Walk the paths, smell the smoke from fish drying, feel the salt on everything. Wonderful mound formed by shells that the ancestors layered here for centuries. Than further through channels and creeks with stops on different beaches along the way for swimming and picnic lunch. Then back—birdwatching along the way: pelicans skimming, cormorants diving, egrets like white ghosts in the mangroves.
Combo 1: Fadiouth + Private Beach Day
Pick-up at hotel → drive to Fadiouth (shell island walk-through—shell streets, church, sacred baobab,cemetery) → drive to Ndangane for Private Beach Day as described above.
Combo 2: Fadiouth + Full Day Island Escape
Pick-up at hotel → drive to Fadiouth (shell island walk-through—shell streets, church, sacred baobab,cemetery) → drive to Ndangane for Full Day Island Escape as described above.
Combo3: Village market+Private beach day -Wednesday only Pick-up from your hotel, easy drive to buzzing village of Ngueniene for weakly market. Walk through animal side: goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, horses—all for sale, all haggling. Than move to stalls of fruits, vegetables, peanuts, bright fabrics, spices, traditional medicine … Then drive to Ndangane and continue to Private Beach Day as described above.
